Enough

Enough. A powerful word. A complete thought or answer, as in, "I've had enough." I've had enough of this - whatever 'this' is - and when you have had enough, that is valid. You don't need to justify your response.

You don't need a reason to feel ready to move on, or better yet, to just stop doing something. If you feel in your bones that something in your life is not right - maybe you have had enough. And if there is a chance you have power over that something, you can say, "I've had enough."

We forget sometimes that simple sentences can hold massive amounts of weight: Enough. No. Not today, thanks. I am all set.

It is a beautiful thing to firmly set boundaries. Because when you do that, you not only garner respect from others, you respect your body, your spirit, your mind.

I think society as a whole too often looks at negative statements with distaste. We should be "yes people," right? Wrong. Why should we? I'm not saying go up to a stranger to pick an argument and just say "No, no, no." But if you have had enough, you don't have to push through all the time. Enough is enough to say.

Also, a gentle reminder that you are enough. YOU are enough simply by breathing and feeling and existing. You are enough, even when you've had enough. You are enough when you have bad days, good days, weird days, scary days... you are always enough.

You are enough when you make mistakes. You are enough when you don't know what comes next. Enough when you're afraid to take risks. Enough when you feel embarrassed or ashamed. When you fall. When you get back up again.

Enough.

All of it, all for you. Always.
